Patti Shiplett has just unveiled The Gift - a sculptural piece commissioned by Darrell Remai and the Caleb Group of Companies for the new White Stone Business Centre in Saskatoon.
Shiplett's metal sculpture consists of 3 gold balls united to signify Mother Earth. They are accompanied by two stainless steel sentinels – one curved to represent the feminine, the other more angular to represent the masculine. The sentinels reflect Mother Earth, the business centre, the surrounding prairie landscape, and the observer – bringing all in together to create intimacy out of expansive space.
The White Stone Business Centre is located along the riverbank just north of the Silverspring Golf Course in Saskatoon. The owner and core tenant is the head office for the Caleb Group, which operates 12 retirement villages providing accommodation and care for over 1,000 seniors in Western Canada. The Centre is a beautiful building featuring scenic views of the Saskatchewan River on one side, and Shiplett’s sculpture on the other.
